Construction of major gas processing plant starts in Amur region

A ceremony devoted to the beginning of an Amur region’s gas processing plant’s construction was held in the Svobodny district of the Amur region in Russia.




The chairman of the board of directors of Gazprom PJSC, Alexei Miller, took part in the event, Gazprom’s press office told Construction.ru. The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, gave the command to start the construction work by means of videoconferencing.

The Amur gas processing plant will become the major one in Russia and one of the world’s largest enterprises processing natural gas, with a projected capacity of up to 49 bln cubic meters of gas per year.

Moreover, the facility will include the world’s largest helium production unit, of up to 60m cubic meters per year.

The new gas processing plant will also be necessary for establishing a natural gas supply to China.
