By 2019 or 2020, Rosatom plans to bring Russian nuclear fuel to the US market for atomic power stations.
The corresponding information was published on Tuesday on the state corporation’s official Twitter account. The message says that the term corresponds to the TVEL “road map” of the Rosatom state corporation.
This document was presented at the “Atomexpo-2016” forum by Rosatom's TVEL Fuel Company representative, Yury Olenin. The issue concerns “TVS-Kvadrat” trademark, specially developed for exploitation in reactors produced by Western companies. It could account for over 10% of the American market.
Fuel testing will begin in 2018 at a US power station.
