The construction of a highway bridge across the Samur River at the boundary between Russia and Azerbaijan will start in 2016, the Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia, Sergei Aristov, told TASS on Thursday.
Sergei Aristov is a member of the Russian delegation at the 44th session of ministers of the Railways Cooperation Organization in the city of Baku.
“According to all plans, this year we will have to launch the construction”, - he said. The official hasn't specified the project price, referring to commercial confidentiality. “In case everything is good in financial terms, we will be able to complete the construction in 2017”, - stressed Aristov.
Now the main difficulty is an agreement between the border guard services of both countries to provide a free passage for suppliers of construction materials and for workers.
