Germans to invest 2 bln euro in Moscow – Kazan high-speed railway

German Initiative Group of Companies is ready to allocate over 1,5 bln euro for construction of the infrastructure of a high-speed network from Moscow to Kazan and 700 m euro for purchase of carrying equipment, Kommersant newspaper reports on Thursday.

According to the newspaper, the Group includes a number of large companies, in particular, Siemens, which is widely known in Russia.

We should remind you that the first country, which expressed its readiness to invest in the high-speed railway, was China. Beijing intends to extend a loan totaling 400 bln roubles, as well as to provide equity financing in amount of 52 bln roubles.

The matter concerns the construction in Russia of the first electrified double-line railway for trains capable to run with the speed of 200 – 400 km per hour. 770 kilometer road will reduce the travel time between the destination points down to 3,5 hours.
