On the 10th of August, the USA, France, Britain, Germany, Spain and Italy issued a joint statement regarding the situation with mounting tension around the Zueitina oil terminal located in Libya, Reuters reports on Wednesday.

The signers call on a return under government control of all oil and gas installations. Besides of that, the Western countries urged all parties not to damage Libya's energy infrastructure.

“The government of national accord must work with the National Oil Corporation to relaunch oil production in order to rebuild Libya's economy,” says the statement. The document was released by the Foreign Ministry of France.

These concerns have been raised by reports of possible clashes in the area between the rival armed factions.
