On Wednesday, the construction of a new solar power plant started in the Astrakhan region located in the Southern Federal District of Russia.
The project is estimated at 3 bln roubles.
The solar power plant is expected to be put into operation as early as next year, the press office of the regional administration told Construction.RU today.
The facility is planned to be erected on the territory of the Volodarsky region and will cost 3 bln roubles.
The solar power plant with a capacity of 15 MW will generate 21 million kWh annually.
The Astrakhan region’s southern border is the Caspian Sea, eastern is Kazakhstan, northern is the Volgograd region, and western is the Republic of Kalmykia.
