On the 7th of September, operatives of the Saint Petersburg regional department of the Federal Security Service (the FSB) of Russia and investigators have been conducting searches in the headquarters of Lenenergo Inc. located at the address of St. Petersburg, Constitution Square, 1.
According to the preliminary data, these investigatory actions are carried out under the 294 Article of Russian Criminal Code over preventing the course of justice and the conduct of preliminary investigation, the local media reports. This article provides for a term of imprisonment of up to 4 years.
The offices of the enterprise’s Security Service is being searched especially thoroughly. Simultaneously, the operatives are searching the home of one of the company’s top managers as well.
As a reference, Lenenergo is one of the largest electricity distribution companies in Russia.
