Russian railways will be developed with consideration for geographical parameters of the country and investments into the railway network will total approximately 196 bln roubles this year, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday over the course of his meeting with railroaders.
“We can’t imagine that railways aren’t developed in our country. Maybe somewhere in western Europe it’s possible, because everything is tiny and compact there, they move by cars, deliver cargoes. However, here it’s impossible, since our country is the biggest in the world. That is why, don’t doubt, the investments will be ensures,” said Head of the Russian Government.
According to him, this year the government will allocate about 196 bln roubles for this purpose.
“These are considerable funds allocated to the development of Russian railways, the results were already visible,” noted Medvedev.
