The authorities of Kuban, a region of Southern Russia surrounding the Kuban River, will come up with the project of alternative energy development at the Investment Forum, which is to be held in the Russian city of Sochi, the regional administration announced on Tuesday.
The project is estimated at 60 bln roubles.
The Krasnodar region, which is also referred to as “Kuban”, experiences power shortages, that is why creation of additional capacities, including renewable energy sources, is a trending direction for the development of modern power generation. Kuban’s climate and geographical features allows to take advantage of the wind force as a source of electrical power.
“The project stipulates installation of eight wind power stations on the territory of the Krasnodar region. Investments into the facilities’ construction will amount to over 60 bln roubles,” says the statement released by the regional administration.
