Russian pensioner seeks one-million-ruble compensation from IKEA

A pensioner woman from the Russian city of Kazan accused IKEA of causing harm to her health and hazard to life, and filed a claim to the court, seeking a compensation in amount of 1 million rubles.




As TASS news agency reports, definitive hearing of the case is scheduled for the 22nd of November. According to the available data, as far back as 2013, Russian citizen Ms Andreeva hurt her leg, having stroke against a shelving unit at IKEA store.

However, it is only now that she demands that the company pay her 400,000 rubles of compensation to cover expenses on medical treatment and 600,000 rubles as compensation for moral damage.
