By the year 2020, investors plan to inject over 47 billion rubles ($751 million) in construction of greenhouses in the Russian region of Stavropol.
As Construction.RU was told today by the regional press-service, after the facilities are put in operation, the vegetable production in the region will reach 118,250 tons, the growth of the protected ground areas will amount to 170,18 hectares. Apart from that, more than 2.6 million jobs are expected to be created.
Now, one of the largest investors in the Stavropol region, “ECO-Culture” holding has over 50 hectares of greenhouses.
When producing high-quality products there, special technics are applied there for plant protection. This includes the use of entomophages, electric pheromone traps to control flying pests, while pollination is carried out with the use of bumblebees.
