Investors from China intend to finance the construction of a new self-contained paper mill in the Yenisei district of the Russian region of Krasnoyarsk, Izvestia newspaper reports on the 16th of December with reference to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
This week the talks with the Chinese delegation were held, over the course of which the parties discussed the issues of partnership between the two countries in terms of timber processing. As it was noted by a Deputy Minister of Industry Viktor Evtukhov, at present, China uses about 25 million tones of market pulp, while its consumption is growing annually by 5-10%.
The cost of self-contained paper mill in the Yenisei district is estimated at $2 billion. Also, the Chinese are going to invest in the construction of a plant in the city of Amursk, located in the Khabarovsk region, with the contract price of $1 billion. The enterprise is scheduled to be launched in 2019.
