Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation affirmed its readiness to take part in construction of new nuclear energy units in the Republic of South Africa, the company’s director general, Alexey Likhachev, told reporters on Tuesday.

As it was reported earlier, the companies willing to participate in the NPP construction project in the country have to affirm their intention until the 31st of January this year. Until the 28th of April, they will have to submit the proposals regarding the project.

“All required documentation was submitted,” Likhachev said. “Yes,” he added, answering the question on whether it meant that Rosatom confirmed its intention.

Earlier, Eskom, a South-African company, published a request for information on the capacities of potential suppliers of NPP construction technologies. Rosatom submitted the relative documentation.
