Russian billionaire seeks to become investor of Serbian international airport

Airports of Regions Holding, incorporated in Renova company owned by Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, plans to take part in a tender for the selection of an investor of an international airport of Belgrade, Serbia, the company’s director general, Yevgeny Chudnovsky, said in an interview with Interfax news agency.

“Recently a pre-qualification selection for Belgrade (international airport – editor’s note) was announced. We were interested in this project as far back as three years ago, and now we are going to participate,” Chudnovsky said.

In addition, according to him, the holding is also examining the possibility to invest in airports of the Russian cities of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Novy Urengoi. As Chudnovsky put it, the company sees business opportunity in labour migration due to the existing investment projects on territory exploration in Novy Urengoi. Whereas Kamchatka is a region of incoming tourism.
