About 700 000 sqm of sports facilities are planned to be built in Moscow over the course of this year. This statement was made by a Deputy Mayor of Moscow for urban policy and construction, Marat Khusnullin, at a real estate exhibition MIPIM in Cannes.
“This is largely due to the upcoming World Cup. A total number of 94 sports facilities are under construction for this championship,” - he said.
According to him, in addition to stadiums in the capital city of Russia, 12 training fields for youth sports schools will be established. Up to 10,000 children will be able to play football there. “It is even a greater achievement than the construction of professional arenas,” Marat Khusnullin added.
