The number of homes, construction of which began in the USA in February 2017, increased by 3% compared to the previous month, and amounted to 1,288 million in terms of annual growth, what is the highest rate in four months, according to data provided by the country’s Ministry of Commerce.
In January, the number of new buildings decreased by 1.9%, down to 1,251 million houses. Earlier it was reported about the reduction by 2.6%, to 1,246 million houses.
Analysts on Wall Street predicted an increase in February up to 1.27 million houses.
The increase in the number of new buildings is due to a sharp jump in the construction of houses designed for one family. The number of such homes in February rose by 6.5%, with the fastest rate since October 2007, up to 872 thousand.
