JSC Rusnano, a government-owned company established for the purpose of commercializing developments in nanotechnology, plans to launch the Fund for Wind Energy Development, as it follows from the agenda for a meeting of the company’s Board of Directors.

Details of the project and the Fund's partners have not been revealed yet. The agenda also envisages an investment project “The First Environmental Fund”.

At present, Rusnano pays much attention to renewable energy sources and examines, in particular, wind energy as one of the priority areas.

In October 2016, Rusnano announced that the company would will 10 billion rubles in the construction of wind power in Russia, and in November of the same year, the head of the Corporation, Anatoly Chubais, declared the creation of Russian wind energy industry.
