Moscow Arbitration Court has adjourned the examination in the preliminary hearing of a claim filed by Rosneft oil company against Swisspro Capital Limited, a Cyprus entity related to Ukrainian businessman Sergei Kurchenko.

The proceeding over the claim for recovery of $185 million for oil supply has been rescheduled for the 17th of May 2017, Rambler News correspondent reports from a courtroom.

The case was adjourned due to the lack of evidence that the defendant had been notified about the beginning of the trial.

A representative of the company present in the courtroom blamed the inability to submit required documents on European sanctions. “We are under the EU sanctions and in order to obtain any document we need to convince local providers of Cyprus that it does not violate the sanctions”, — he stressed.

As a reference, Rosneft filed the claim on the 14th of March. The company asked to recover the debt in amount of $184,842 million under the contract for crude oil supply of the 27th of March, 2014.
