International hotel chain Marriott International is planning to open soon 12 new hotels in Russia, the president and managing director of Marriott in Europe, Amy McPherson, and the company’s president and CEO, Arne Sorenson, said in an interview to Interfax news agency.
“Currently, we have 24 hotels in Russia. For us it is a very important market, although it has experienced some difficulties for the obvious macroeconomic reasons in recent years. In terms of plans, we expect to open 12 new hotels in Russia soon: four Four Points hotels, three Courtyard, two Marriott, two Sheraton... In addition, we have recently announced the opening of the first Bulgari hotel in Moscow. We are optimistic about our business in Russia”, — the company’s representatives said.
