The production of liquefied natural gas at a plant of Sakhalin-2 project in the town of Prigorodny located in southern Sakhalin, Russia, was suspended in connection with the activities carried out to eliminate the gas leaking at Lunskaya-A production platform in the Okhotsk sea, Sakhalin Energy company told Interfax news agency on Monday.
“A plan to eliminate the gas leaking has been developed. Currently, preparations for its implementation are underway. LNG production is stopped”, — the agency’s interlocutor said.
Answering the question about whether it will have any impact on the schedule of export supplies, the press office said that the company was examining the situation.
On Sunday afternoon, automatic sensors of gas leakage were on at an equipment of one of the wells at Lunskaya-A production platform. Out of the 139 staff members 92 people were evacuated.
