The opening of a monument to Ivan the Terrible, a notorious Russian tsar, which will be located in the city of Aleksandrov in the Vladimir region of Russia, is scheduled for the 26th of August 2017, the deputy head of Aleksandrov district administration, Elena Shulga, told Interfax on Tuesday.
“The head of the Aleksandrov district, Igor Pershin, decided that the opening of the monument to Ivan the Terrible would not be postponed to the 27th of April. This is due to the weather conditions, and that a pedestal for the monument is not ready yet, the foundation is filled only by half. So the monument will take its place on the bank of the Seraya River in August,” — the agency’s interlocutor said.
The monument was made in Moscow by a sculptor Vasily Selivanov, a month ago it was brought to Aleksandrov.
