A solemn ceremony of the laying of sacred relics in the under construction Enlightenment stupa, which is Buddhist religious building, was held in the capital's Otradnoye district.
“Iconic object, which is a part of the complex, has a sacred meaning for Buddhists, as the stupa serves to carry the blessing and happiness to all living beings. This Saturday was the first of the three laying ceremonies. According to the tradition, texts of the mantras and the various Buddhist relics are laid in the stupa,” —the head of the Moscow Buddhist community, Dulma Shagdarova, announced on Monday.
The height of the stupa — the first Moscow’s Buddhist temple — is 13 meters.
