Sales of the new generation Kia Rio in Russia will begin in late summer or early autumn, the managing director of Kia Motors Rus, Alexander Moinov, told Rambler News on Friday.
He specified that the sales were expected to be launched in the period between August and September of 2017. The factory located in the Russian city St Petersburg will begin the manufacture of the model six weeks before the start of sales.
The new generation vehicle will have two car body variants. “At the end of summer it will be a four-door car so far, then a five-door hatchback will be added to the sedan,” Alexander Moinov explained.
In February, the parent company of Hyundai Motor presented in Russia a new generation of its best-selling model Solaris, having abandoned the body of a hatchback.
