China has approved the allocation of additional financial resources to the project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), increasing their total amount to $62 billion, according to Express Tribune.




China's additional investments were announced by Mohammad Zubair, the Governor of the Pakistani province of Sindh, the territory of which is also included in the CPEC project.

He specified that new investments had been approved for projects in various sectors, including that concerning the establishment of industrial zones. Mohammad Zubair specified that ordinary citizens would benefit from that and would be able to receive dividends from the investments.

As a reference, more than half of the total volume of investments – $34 billion – will be invested in the development of the electricity production and electricity distribution networks.
