A package of four contracts for the construction by the Russian party of Egypt’s first nuclear power plant El-Dabaa on the Mediterranean has been agreed, now the document is undergoing legal review, the website of the Egyptian newspaper Youm7 reports, citing a senior source in the Electricity and Renewable Energy Ministry of Egypt.

“The development of all four contracts is completed, now they are being verified from the viewpoint of compliance with laws,” — the source said.

The NPP construction will be carried out with the participation of Rosatom, a Russian state nuclear energy corporation.

Earlier, Egypt's Energy Ministry reported that two of the four contracts had been agreed with the Russian party. The documents envisage construction of a station, its start-up and training of Egyptian personnel. The other two documents, which managed the supply of nuclear fuel for the station and the treatment of the spent fuel, were under consideration at that moment.
