The Russian government has postponed the commissioning of football stadiums under construction for 2018 World Cup in the Russian cities of Samara and Kaliningrad, as it follows from a decree published on the website of legal information on Wednesday.
The document amends the previously adopted resolution on the implementation of budget investments in the stadiums construction in 2018 World Cup’s host cities.
Stadium in Kaliningrad designed for 35 thousand spectators is being built on the principle of LEGO and will be located on the Oktyabrskiy Island in the center of the city. The general contractor of the project is JSC Crocus. The construction site with an area of 24.4 ha is located between the rivers Staraya and Novaya Pregolya.
