Russian MPs introduce draft law on burial of Lenin

Members of Russian Parliament, he State Duma, have introduced a draft law, which provides a legal framework for burial of the body of Vladimir Lenin, a Russian communist revolutionary.




This was reported by Russia Today with reference to a copy of the document. The authors of the draft law are Vladimir Sysoev, Ivan Sukharev, Alexander Kurdyumov, Evgeny Marchenko and Nikolai Brykin, the latter represents the State Duma in the Supreme Court.

According to the parliamentarians, the document is designed to fill the legal lacuna preventing the reburial of the remains of historical figures, and thus to “put an end to the issue of Lenin”.

It is noted in the document that the project is timed to the birthday of the Bolsheviks’ leader on April 22.
