Employees of French car parts maker GM&S Industry, which is on the verge of bankruptcy, are threatening to blow up its plant in case the company’s major clients – Renault and PSA – do not assume the obligation to ensure orders for the enterprise, Le Figaro reports.

The employees have placed tanks with gasoline and gas cylinders in the territory of the enterprise.

“We do not want to be fooled any more,” the newspaper cites the trade union’s representative, Vincent Labrussa. According to the protesters, the firm's major clients – Renault and PSA – must significantly increase their orders, which will allow the company to avoid liquidation.

Currently, GM&S Industry has contracts with Renault for €5 million, and with PSA for €11 million, while, by estimates of trade unions, the viability will be maintained, only if the annual revenue does not drop below €40 million.
