Divisions of electronic warfare (EW) of a Russian military base in Abkhazia have got Leer-2 modern mobile complexes based on Tiger armored car, the press office of the Southern military district of Russia reports on Tuesday.




“The automated complex Leer-2 based on Tiger all-terrain vehicle is intended for the radio interception of radar sources and the radio suppression of the enemy’s radio-electronic equipment,” the head of the press office of the Southern military district, Colonel Vadim Astafyev.

In addition, Leer-2 allows to create a real jamming environment, to simulate the operation of various radio-electronic means, as well as to assess the electromagnetic environment. Such a system can operate in the vicinity of the forward line of enemy troops, which significantly increases its efficiency.
