Russia, Kazakhstan negotiate oil transit to Uzbekistan

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak has negotiated with Energy Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kanat Bozumbayev, the transportation of Russian oil to Uzbekistan via the territory of Kazakhstan, the Russian Ministry reports on Thursday.




The parties were discussing the issues of bilateral cooperation at a meeting in Vienna.

“Over the course of the meeting, the parties also discussed an issue of cooperation between international organizations, including the GECF (the Gas Exporting Countries Forum) and CIS EPC (the Electric Power Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States),” - the Ministry’s message reads.

On the 4th of April 2017, the Energy Ministry of Russia and Uzbekneftegaz, a state-owned holding company of Uzbekistan's oil and gas industry, signed a memorandum on cooperation, which envisaged the creation of a bilateral working group with the participation of representatives of Kazakhstan.
