Cableways will enter a transport system of the Russian capital city, RIA Novosti news agency reported citing the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.
As Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina noted, in three years, a modern cableway can begin to fulfill the role of public transport in the city. In particular, it is planned to build an air route, which will take place between the metro stations “Skhodnenskaya and “Rechnoy Vokzal”. The project can be implemented on the principles of public-private partnership.
If the project proves successful, BPS International and Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH, which act as its investors, can localize the production of components of cable transport systems in Moscow.
According to preliminary estimates, the amount of investment in the construction of a new transport facility will be approximately 4 billion rubles.
