A basic source document package on Chinese investments in the construction of the high-speed main railway line “Moscow-Kazan” will be signed by SCo "RZD" chief executives and representatives from the China Investment Corporation on May 8th and 9th.
As “Construction.ru” was told by a source in the JSCo “RZD” headquarters, serious negotiations are currently being held on preparing the first framework agreement, which is to be signed during Chinese leader Si Tzinpin’s visit to Moscow to celebrate the Great Victory Jubilee. As a reminder, investments in the construction of the high-speed main railway line “Moscow-Kazan” may reach 1trn rubles.
The first offer of construction investment in the high-speed main railway line “Moscow-Kazan” construction was made by the Chinese side during a business forum on the island of Hinan at the end of March. They were ready to extend credit of 250 bln rubles for 20 years and to invest 50 bln into the charter capital of a specially created design company.
Moreover, in October 2014 JSCo “RZD”, Ministry of Transport, the CPR State Committee on development and reformation, and the “Chinese Railways” Group of Companies signed a memorandum on the development of high-speed railway communication. The development of the Eurasian high-speed transport corridor from Moscow to Peking was is the ultimate goal. The section from Moscow to Kazan is to become part of the route, which may be laid either through Kazakhstan or across the Altai.
