The Orenburg region, the Beliaeka district, the Dubensky settlement. Our special correspondent, Alexei Nevsky. The official opening of the gypsum plant “VOLMA-Orenburg” took place on September 4th. 




The Orenburg regional governor, Yury Berg, the President of the “VOLMA” company, Alexander Malashkin, and the Chairman of Board of MC “VOLMA”, Yury Goncharov, took part in the solemn opening procedure, starting the production of gypsum based dry building mixes and gypsum partition blocks. The established council chair of GC “KNAUF” and honorary consul of Russia in Germany, Nikolaus Knauf, the General Delegate of “Saint-Gobain” for CIS, Gonzague Arnoux de Pirey, and the Vice-Premier of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Kalinin, were among the honored guests. Delegations from Germany, China, Finland, France, Turkey, and representatives from the Belarusian Government were also present at the opening ceremony.



The new plant has been built with the use of modern environmentally friendly technologies. The annual production volume upon achieving its estimated capacity will be 454,000 square meters of gypsum partition blocks and 120,000 tons of gypsum based dry building mixes. Investment in the plant will total 1.5bln rubles (with the help of VTB Bank’s credit line).

In his words of welcome, the head of the region, Yury Berg, stressed that in the framework of agreement between the VOLMA company and the government of the region, the enterprise has invested significant money in the development of local infrastructure. The enterprise is being portrayed as an example of successful public-private partnership.



“The production in the Orenburg region is designed for a full production run: from the extraction of raw materials to product delivery to customers. ‘VOLMA-Orenburg’ is a modern, ecologically safe project which will actively participate in the implementation of import replacement projects and in the cooperation between EEU countries”, Yury Goncharov said.

The Gypsum mine in Dubensky has belonged to “VOLMA” since 2005. To expand its presence on the territory of the Urals and the Volga region and to develop the nearby territories of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, a decision was taken to build a gypsum plant at the base of the “Sludnaya mount” mine. In 2011, executives of the managing company ‘VOLMA’ signed an agreement with the government of the Orenburg region on the implementation of the investment project for the extraction and fragmentation of gypsum rock at the deposit in Dubensky. The construction of the ‘VOLMA-Orenburg’ plant is recognized as a priority investment project in the Orenburg region.

REFERENCE: The ‘VOLMA’ company has been on the Russian market for 16 years and has achieved the level of an international company. It includes 5 quarries, 6 plants in Russia, 1 in the Republic of Belarus, and a plant is being constructed in the Republic of Adygeya; they have their own distributor network with 14 sales centers. More than 2,000 employees work for the corporation.

In 2015 the volume of manufactured products increased by 10%. In spite of general economic instability, the enterprise managed to retain sales levels and fulfil pre-planned investment development. The putting into operation of a new gypsum plant in Adygeya is to take place in the 4th quarter of 2015 (“VOLMA-Maikop”), and a new gypsum plant will open in Belarus (s. Gatovo, Minsk region) in 2018.
