At Bataysk aerodrome in the Rostov region, the construction of a high-powered helicopter cluster will begin in 2016.
This is what Construction.ru was told by the regional press office, which cited the Rostov Minister of Industry and Energy, Mikhail Tikhonov, speaking at a session of the regional government on February 17th.
According to him, the volume of investments for work implementation at the object’s construction site will total 20 bln roubles. The site of the prospective cluster will pass into the ownership of “Rostvertol” JSC. At present, the company is exploiting it on a leasehold basis. The plant, turning out new products, will be paid for by “Rostvertol”, as well as by the federal budget fund.
The cluster will include a flight-test complex, an assembly line for Mi-28, Mi-35 and Mi-26 helicopters and advanced middle-sized helicopter, a competence center for item production with composite materials, a support center for helicopter exploitation, and a branch of the Helicopter Academy.
