The incident with the Turkish dry-cargo vessel which ran into an auxiliary bridge construction pole hasn’t affected the progress and terms of the bridge construction over the Kerch Channel.

This is what the “Kerch Chanel” Information Center said to Construction.ru about the emergency that occurred on March 19th at the construction site.

To remind you, last Saturday the “Lira” vessel, owned by the Turkish Turkuaz Shipping Corp, ran into the pole of auxiliary bridge №2, located between Tuzla Island and a fairway. The cause of the incident still isn’t clear.

As a result of the crash, a number of piles are bent. The building of the №2 and №3 auxiliary bridges that will be used to carry out construction work on the Kerch Bridge is scheduled to be completed this summer. The first temporary bridge was erected in October of last year.

The dry-cargo vessel, whose captain is a Turkish citizen, was sailing under the flag of Panama. It has now safely arrived in Taganrog.
