FSB detains former vice-governor of Primorie region, Oleg Ezhov

On the 3rd of May, FSB operatives detained the former vice-governor of the Primorie region, Oleg Ezhov, who resigned from his position on the 30th of April.The arrest took place in the Russian city of Vladivostok.




Since June 2014, in his senior position, Oleg Ezhov had been supervising the urban construction policy, the regional State Construction Supervision and Inspection Service, and had exercised control in the field of co-funded construction, the local press reports.

His detention is associated with the investigation of a criminal case against the head of the “Unified Directorate for Objects Construction on the Territory of the Primorie Region” public enterprise, belonging to Igor Sologub.

Mr Sologub is suspected of receiving a 2 m rouble bribe in the construction of a micro-district for the military in Vladivostok. According to the investigators, this occurred on the 14th of April. Meanwhile, this was only a small part of the whole bribe, totaling 9 m roubles.
