In late 2017, the first phase of the most powerful laser facility in the world, UFL-2M, is scheduled to be put into operation in the Russian city of Sarov, situated in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
This is what the director of the Russian Federal Center, the Russia-wide scientific and research center of experimental physics, Valentin Kostyukov, told reporters on the 30th of May at the “Atomexpo-2016” forum in Moscow.
According to him, the work at the construction sites of this unique facility is on schedule. Simultaneously, technological equipment, all of which is being made in Russia, is being produced for the object.
