MIEL company owner, Grigory Kulikov, who was detained in Jurmala on the 8th of May at the request of the Prosecutor General of Russia, will remain in custody until the question of his extradition to Russia isn’t settled.

As a reference, MIEL is Russia’s largest federal chain of real estate agencies.

This information has been reported today by the Latvian media with an indication that at present the investigation into the case is underway, but the decision on whether to extradite Grigory Kulikov to Russia, hasn’t been taken.

The matter is that this is Prosecutor General who can hand down the opinion on the extradition request on a basis of admissibility decision made by a prosecutor.

Russian law enforcement agencies charge Grigory Kulikov with embezzlement in the amount of 85 millions of roubles from the investors of the elite cottage village “Barvikha Village”.
