On the 20th of July, the Chinese authorities held an official ceremony opening a new highway, which goes from the Chinese city of Harbin located in Heilongjiang province to the capital city of Russia, Moscow.
As the local press reports today, the same day, the first string of four heavy duty trucks departed from the international land terminal in Harbin and proceeded along the highway towards Russia.
According to the schedule, in 7 days the vehicles will come to the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, passing through Manzhouli dry port in Inner Mongolia, and in 9 days they will arrive in Moscow.
As a reference, a new route for cargo railway transportation was launched in February between Harbin and Yekaterinburg.
