Police searched the construction department of the Russian city of Perm and seized the documents over the case of embezzlements of 28 m roubles at a reconstruction site of the city’s embankment.
According to investigation, these funds were directed to the purchase of granite tile and curb stone, and the materials should have been kept at the premises of Perm’s construction department.
The contractor received money, but the construction materials mysteriously disappeared. Nor there are documents attesting to fact of the construction material purchase. Besides of that, the contractor itself was declared bankrupt in January 2015.
The project envisaged reconstruction of Perm’s embankment. In 2014, the court cancelled the contract on a basis that the contractor had submitted a forged banker guarantee for the tender participation.
