On Wednesday, Alexey Likhachov was appointed a new director general of Rosatom State Energy Corporation, after the company’s head, Sergey Kiriyenko, was named the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia.
A corresponding decree was signed today by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Before that, Alexey Likhachov held a position of the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Russia.
Alexey Likhachov was born on the 23rd of December 1962 in the town of Arzamas-75 (Sarov). In 1985 he graduated from Gorky University n.a. N.I. Lobachevsky, radio-physical faculty, in 1998 graduated from Nizhny Novgorod State University, economy faculty.
From 1985 to 1987, Alexey Likhachov worked as an engineer at Gorky research instrument-making institute.
From 1992 to 2000, he was a managing director of Nizhny Novgorod “Aval” social and industrial insurance company.
From 2000 to 2007, Likhachov was elected a deputy of State Duma of Russia, was a Deputy President of Committee for Economic Policy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
From 2010 to 2016, Alexey Likhachov held office of the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Russia.
