Today, the phase one of “Tolmachevskyi” greenhouse complex was put in operation in the Russian city of Novosibirsk, which is the administrative center of the Siberian Federal District of Russia and the country’s third most populous city after Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
The greenhouse complex covers 8,5 hectares of land. Investments in the project totaled 3,5 billion roubles, TASS news agency reports on Thursday. A high-capacity production will release 15,000 tons of fresh vegetables per year.
The phase two is scheduled to be launched in October 2017, after that, in 2018, construction of the third “Obskoi” complex will start.
The new enterprise has become the largest one in the area of Siberia and Russian Far East, where tomatoes and cucumbers are raised.
