The world’s largest social network, Facebook, intends to open a headquarters in London and increase its staff by 50%, having created 500 new jobs, a vice president of the company for EMEA region, Nicola Mendelsohn, announced.
Opening of a new office is scheduled for the year 2017. A total number of personnel is expected to amount to 1,500 people. Many of these new positions will be those of high-qualified engineers. According to Nicola Mendelsohn, Great Britain remains one of the best places for technological companies and is an important part of Facebook’s history.
Earlier, Google Corporation announced its plans to build headquarters in London in the area of King’s Cross railway station. The initiative might lead to the creation of 3,000 jobs in British capital city.
