Igor Dodon, who assumed office of President of Moldova on 23 December 2016, intends to annul a deal envisaging establishing a NATO Liaison Office in the country’s capital city of Chisinau, TASS News agency reports on Monday.

Moldova’s president promised to cancel the agreement in his interview to Russia’s RT channel. Moreover, Igor Dodon unveiled his plans to carry out meeting with heads of NATO member-countries in Brussels nest month. The Moldovan President intends to discuss a possibility of the country’s neutral status.

He explained that most of Moldovans did not welcome joining NATO and pledged to block any attempts made by NATO to infiltrate, as well as “any dubious joint military exercises.”
