Ex-Vice Prime Minister of Crimea detained over bribery in housing construction

As it became known on Wednesday, the Russian Investigative Committee (the SKR) detained the former Vice Prime Minister of the Crimean Republic on bribery suspicion.

The ex-official is accused of receiving a part of a bribe from a businessman in exchange for assistance in obtaining the contract for the construction of housing.

The regional department of the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against the former Deputy Chairman of the Crimean Council of Ministers, investigators told Interfax news agency on Wednesday.

“He is suspected of receiving a bribe through an intermediary in especially large amount,” the press-service of the Investigative Committee told Interfax without specifying the name of the ex-official.

Meanwhile, the agency’s source in law-enforcement agencies told Interfax that the matter concerned Oleg Kozurin.
