Construction of a high-speed railway line connecting the city of Hanyang located in Hubei Province and the city of Jiujiang in Jiangxi Province has been completed in China.
At present, start-up and adjustment operations are underway on the railway. The length of a railway line amounts to 198 kilometers. A design speed of the trains will reach 250 kilometers per hour.
As it was reported earlier, over 80% of major Chinese cities will be covered by a network of high-speed railway main lines by the year 2020. A total length of railways in the country will reach approximately 30,000 kilometers.
As of the end of 2015, a total length of the operating railways in China reached 121,000 kilometers, what made the country the world’s second largest in this term.
