The Russian Railways JSC plans to build a high-speed rail line running from Moscow to Tula, a Deputy Head of the Moscow branch of the company, Alexander Potapenko, told reporters on Wednesday.




“Currently, the project is included in an investment program of the Russian Railways and involves construction of a new high-speed line from the Moscow region to Tula and then to Belgorod. These trains will run along a completely new routes, еру speed of trains will be more than 200 km/h”, - said Mr. Potapenko.

However, he didn’t specified the volumes of financing.

Every year, up to 5 million passengers are carried at the Tula section of the Moscow railway. The total length of railway routes in the region is 1.55 thousand km.
