Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev, signed a decree allowing the extension of measures of state aid rendered to renewable sources of energy to generating facilities operating on the basis of solid waste incineration, as it follows from a message published on the government’s official website.

In particular, according to the document, the amendments set terms and conditions of competitive bidding for the projects for waste-to-energy plants, as well as of implementation of such projects within the framework of a mechanism of capacity supply contracts in electricity wholesale market.

Apart from that, the decree determines the regions of Russia, in the territories of which the projects for the construction of waste-to-energy plants with a total capacity of 335 MW will be implemented. These are the Republic of Tatarstan, Moscow and the Moscow region.
