China Paper Corporation has declared its readiness to invest more than $1 billion in the construction of a modern pulp and paper mill in the town of Amursk located in the Khabarovsk region, in the Russian Far East.




As Construction.RU was told today by the press office of Russian Ministry of the Far East Development, the agreement was reached at the Day of Chinese Investor held in the city of Khabarovsk. The company will sign a preliminary protocol on intentions with the Russian co-investor in May this year.

So, a new plant with a capacity of 500,000 tons of softwood pulp per year will be able to produce several types of cellulose for different types of paper and cardboard.

The facility is expected to be located in Amursk. The project’s implementation will require $1.1 billion.
