Turkey has completed a large part of the project for the construction of a concrete wall on the border with Syria, Anadolu Agency reports on Tuesday.
A total of 556 kilometers of fencing have been erected in the six border provinces.
“The wall with a thickness of thirty centimeters and a height of three meters consists of concrete blocks of seven tons each. On the top of the fortification a barbed wire is stretched at the height of one meter for the purpose of safety,” - the head of the Department for Housing Construction Development of Turkey, Ergün Turan, explained.
According to the expert, up to three kilometers of the wall can be built on the border daily.
